We are often able to offer a non-binding premium indication using another carrier's application. In order to provide a binding quote, we will require a fully completed Zurich New Business Application and any applicable supplements.
Firms involved in the following areas of practice are not eligible for new business consideration:
- Class Action/Mass Tort work
- Any Patent work
- Any Tax Shelter work
- For Florida risks only – any new business account with claims
Standard Full-Time:
Firm Size of 1 to 99 Attorneys.
Ineligible Risks:
- 6% or more Medical Malpractice work (plaintiff or defense)that involves wrongful death, pediatrics, permanent disability, nursing homes, ob/gyn, and/or birth related injury work
- In all states except CA, OH & TX, 25% or more Medical Malpractice work that does NOT include any of the above listed areas
- 50% or more Collections work and/or an attorney to staff ratio of 1:10 or greater
- 25% or more Copyright or Trademark work (100% for risks located in CA, OH & TX)
- 25% or more Entertainment work (for all states except CA, OH & TX)
- 25% or more Securities work (50% or more for risks located in CA, OH & TX)
Part-Time Program:
Solo attorneys spending fewer than 26 hours per week in the private practice of law.
Ineligible Risks:
- Copyright or Trademark work
- Collections work
- Entertainment work
- Medical Malpractice (plaintiff or defendant) work
- 25% or more Personal Injury Plaintiff work
- Securities work
Corporate Lawyers / Moonlighting Program:
Solo attorneys spending 26% of the time or less in private practice. The attorney must work full time for an employer who is not a law firm (may be self-employed in a business other than that of the practice of law):
Ineligible Risks:
- Copyright or Trademark work
- Collections work
- Entertainment work
- Investment Counseling/Money work
- Medical Malpractice (plaintiff or defendant) work
- 25% or more Personal Injury Plaintiff work
- Securities work
